Patriotic Table Topper Made with Scraps

I am trying to use up some of my matching left-overs. These red and blue half-square triangles were scraps from a “Stormy Sea” quilt I made for my brother years ago.

I free-motion quilted around the stars and added funky stars in the red squares. I used the back for the binding. I did, however, put on a muslin frame just to stabilize the HSTs (half-square triangles) before binding. Now it’s all done! 😀

I did want to share a book that I always use when finishing a project. It has been a great help to me in remembering what to do with different kinds of bindings. It has great illustrations and instructions!

Happy Endings

  1. Your quilt is very lovely. I am in the process of finishing up two quilts and starting a third pretty soon. My first two… and all sewn on a 1905 treadle 🙂
